LAB Precision Components Visits Bristol TEC
On September 16, Jerry Rorabach, executive Vice President of LAB the world’s largest manufacturer of lock pins visited Bristol Tech with factory manager Butch Deziel to speak to the students about opportunities at LAB. Instructor Mark Jurczyk is planning factory tours for his students moving forward.
CT Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program
Over the next five years Connecticut's manufactures will need 25,000 skilled workers. More than 175 Connecticut manufacturers participate in the state apprenticeship program.
Celebrating Manufacturing
October is Manufacturing Month! Bristol TEC’s Precision Manufacturing students celebrate manufacturing every day. Their instructor, Mr. Mark Jurczyk, is excited because this year’s group of students are off to a great start.
Red Cross Blood Drive
On Monday, September 25, 2017, Bristol TEC held its first American Red Cross blood drive of the 2017/2018 school year. An impressive 36 pints of blood were collected. The Titans would like to thank Ms. Aresta and Student Council members for coordinating this live-saving, community engagement event.
Students Receive Scholarships From Red Cross
Three students from the HVAC/R trade received $250 scholarships towards next year’s tuition for their work with the blood drives at Bristol TEC. Pictured left to right is David Torres (donated 5 out of 5 blood drives) Victor Alvarez-Acosta (5 out of 5), and Elijah Harnet (4 out of 5).
Gene Haas Foundation Presents Check to Machining
Dan Murray and Zach Perkins, representatives from the Gene Haas Foundation, came to Bristol TEC on Wednesday to present the Precision Machining Department with a check for $8000.
Annual Job/Career Fair
On June 1st Bristol TEC held its annual job and career fair. Forty two business, college, and military representatives attended, giving the students many opportunities to discuss the options available to them when they leave Bristol TEC.
